Passage (2025)
〈Passage〉 functions as a passageway into places of memory. Even when encountering the same place, the way we perceive and experience it shifts according to the memories we have accumulated. Simply entering a place can unexpectedly bring fragments of the past back to us. The passage into memory is therefore not fixed to a particular location; it can open differently, at any time and anywhere.
The three forms of frames in this work serve as metaphors for such passages. Lightweight and portable, they are not bound to a specific location. Rather than simply framing a landscape, they act as gateways that connect the present space with memories of the past.
Memory does not remain preserved within a place. It becomes activated through the relationship between the place, the body that experiences it, and the passage connecting the two. 〈Passage〉 is a secret passage through which dormant memories flow back into the present.
